Oouuwwhhh.... Christmas presents!!!  Posted by Hello

It's 5.07 AM (GMT +7), I just got home. I went out with my cousins - Ara, Alva, Lala, Lami and Marcel. We went to Plaza EX (Entertainment X'ntre)and watched Polar Express. Oouuwwhhh... Loves it! I've always loved Christmas! One of my favourite times of the year.

My cousins and I were discussing about our childhood afterwards. How much we believed in Santa Claus... (thank's to our parents)

I'd still love to believe in Santa Claus though! ;) I'd love to be on Santa's lap and to have him asking me, "Amara, what do you want for Christmas...?"

Then I'll say, "All I want for Christmas is ______________________" ;D

My cousins and I were discussing about our childhood afterwards. How much we believed in Santa Claus... (thank's to our parents), we used to put a glass of milk & biscuits near the Christmas tree, and on christmas day we got our presents & a letter from "santa"..., the letter was like this (as far as I remembered):

Amara dearest,
This ___________ (barbie/barbie's car/etc) is your christmas present from me. Promise me you'll be a nice girl next year. Always listen to what your mommy & daddy tell you, be nice to your little brother, not fighting with your neighbour again, go to sunday school every week, not wearing mommy's make up without permission, blablabla...

Louhan, a cross breed between chiclid from S. America is considered a hybrid tropical fish, having very striking features in appearance and colour, the most attracting feature of all is it protruding forehead. Keeping this fish, among the Chinese community in Oriental Asia, is belief can bring good luck & fortune to it's owner.  Posted by Hello

I got an sms this morning... from Cokie, one of my friends.

"Junior had passed away... please pray for his soul. Thank you Amara"then I replied:"Cok, sorry to hear that, but who's Junior anyway?"--  I had no idea who he was! Seriously!he replied back:"He's Bambang's brother."--  well, I must admit that Cokie's really good at being weird! If he started to be that weird, it means that he's not serious at all. But I decided to go on with his game. So, I replied him back:"Who's Bambang?"This is the reply:"Amara! He's one of my louhan fishes! You have forgotten all about them, haven't you?"Ach soooooooo!!! Then finally I sent him this message:"Of course I still remember bout your louhans! But I never knew their names though. It's been a while since the last time I came to your house, huh? Well, Please accept my condolence. ((:"Hahahahaha... he's such a funny guy. I got the hidden message of the sms though. It's been a while since the last time I hung out with my friends. It's not that I forgot all about them... it's just, I need some time to be left alone. I'm having a boyfriend and I'm trying to make this happen. I couldn't do that if I hang out with my friends everyday. But well, probably on December I'll start to go out with them again. Coz you know, I've missed them too!

Lunch with my (some of) big family at Ah Yat Abalone Restaurant Posted by Hello

2 malls, 2 movies

Last saturday nite was nice although I haven't got any sleep since the the day before! I had a lunch with my big family at Ah Yat Abalone (Chinese restaurant). Then me and my cousins went to Plaza Senayan to watch "Resident Evil: Apocalypse". I like Milla Jovovich's character in that movie. She's the heroine. But I kept on closing my eyes and watched the movie through the baricade of my fingers in front of my face most of the time! Ha! That sounds silly I know... Hahaha... but really, some parts of the movie were full of creepy creatures!

Then we had dinner at Spice Garden... then, we took off to Cilandak Townsquare. We hung out at Coffee Bean for hours... the topics that we discussed were fun, well, hillarious actually! We laughed endlessly... then we bought tickets to watch movie at the cinema. We watched "Wicker Park" ... it's a remake from a french movie "L'appartement". I had watched "L'appartement" and I didn't really like the ending story. But "Wicker Park"'s ending was even better. They only changed the ending story. I love it, It's great. You should watch that movie! It really got us carried away with the story... I like movies that can 'play' with my emotions...

I had a great time. I hope next week's gonna be great too... AMEN to that! ;)

Jakarta's Hotspots

My friends have been calling me all day. It's friday nite. I kept on refusing their offer to go out... -for a month now- (-,-) Usually on friday nights, my friends and I go out... to the clubs, cafes etc... I'm just bored. I forgot how many years have I been living that kinda life. Since I was 16 I think... These are the list of some popular places in Jakarta that I usually go with my friends:

- Plaza Senayan ... we usually hang out at Bakerzin (the cakes & pastries are just delicious!) and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (Iced Caramel Blend ... yummy!), Upstairs (it's a wine & cigar lounge)
- Cilandak Townsquare ... again, Bakerzin, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Mister Bean Coffee, Gloria Jeans Coffee, The Score, Chopstix, and any other cafes, restaurants...
- Darmawangsa Square ... Gelato Bar for sure!!! They serve the most tasty ice creams! So many flavours too... and Banana Kafe... cozy & attractive interior...
- Kemang area... Dim Sum festival (yes, we love Dim Sum), ke'ku:n, again... Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (Kemang Branch), Dakken, Frankfurter, and many more...
- Entertainment X'entre ... Bread Papa's, Orange Julius - Dairy Queen, Bakerzin, Hard Rock Cafe Jakarta, buy some Bread Talk, walk to Plaza Indonesia...
- Menteng... eat at some street vendors... those yummy Nasi Gila, Nasi Goreng Gila, etc... (Indonesian traditional food)

... kay, those are the places that we usually go on weekdays... now, I'm going to list down some places that we usually go on weekends... along with other Jakartans society (AKA party-goers). The pictures can be seen here.

- Bliss club along with its lounge LOFT 25... this is one of the happening clubs in Jakarta today...
- Blowfish bar... plus point, a friend of mine is the resident DJ at Blowfish every saturday night. He's spinning R&B - Hiphop music.
- La Dolce Vita ... I really like the interior of this club... very nice!
- Manna House ... I don't really like this place... but dunno why, everybody seems happy to go this place.
- Embassy & Co2... we rarely go this place... we only go to this place when other places are too crowded.
- Club Monaco... well, funny, I've never been there.

... there are 2 new clubs in Jakarta... Dragon Fly (located in Graha BIP) and Fluid (located in the Hilton Hotel Jakarta). I haven't been in those two places... maybe someday. I think. I told you earlier, I'm kinda bored with living in the 'hedonism' life. I'm a girl-next-door kinda girl now. Staying at home... watching DVDs, reading books (including crappy novels), browsing the Internet. Do you have any more suggestions for me? Other things that I can do at home? Hehehe... Know what, my friends thought that I've been brainwashed! Hahaha... Oh come on, people do change, right? But who knows, probably someday I'm going to live that kinda life again! Damn... I really don't know what's happening to me. Why do I become indecisive like this?! Oh well... Life's full of surprises, isn't it? I'm just gonna go with the flow, i think. Here I go again, trapped in my own state of confusion. Anyways, for those of u who live outside Jakarta. I've listed down the hotspots in Jakarta... if u wanna have fun here, just visit those places ;)

Okay now, I'm think I'm just gonna spend the rest of this friday night by watching DVDs... have a nice weekend everybody!

Happy Birthday Mom!

The world's greatest mom! (^,^) Posted by Hello

Actually, her birthday was yesterday. To me, she's the world's greatest mom! Well... like any other people, back then when i was a teen, me and my mom didn't always see things eye to eye and also we had our share of disagreements. When I'm becoming an adult, we became friends, although she couldn't always fix my problems. But she's always being there for me. I also began to realize the sacrifices she had made for me, all the sleepless nights, worries, and stress I caused her. I'm so grateful to have her as my mother.

She's letting me to choose and live my own life. She's tried not to interfere with any things that come up in my life. She said that I'm old enough to know what's bad & what's good for me. She never complained if I got home late... there were times when I got home around 4-5 a.m. for almost everyday (when I was still a student). As long as I have good grades, go to church every sunday and have time at least once or twice a week for my family, she's totally okay with everything that I do.

You know... it got me wondering... will I be a good mom someday? It's not an easy thing. But we''ll see... marriage is still soooo far away from me!

Well anyways, we celebrated my mom's bday by having dinner together... along with my grandma (she's currently staying at my house, but only for 2 weeks) and with my mom's big brother and his family. It was a very pleasant dinner... the conversations, the food, the people were just simply great. We had dinner at 'Cahaya Kota', it serves tasty Chinese food! All time favourite! :)

Alriteee then, it's 3.49 a.m. and I'm getting sleepy... so I'm just gonna crash on my bed. Ciao alle!
