Goodbye 2010

My 2010

Opening the year in Bali with my family and stayed at St. Regis Bali.
January 1st 2010; 00.03 WITA at Ayana Resort Bali

After new year, we stayed at St.Regis Bali, I was holding the welcome card for our villa (People in the villa were me. my husband and my brother --- parents on the other villa, literally next door). The best hotel in the country (:

Left Bali for Jakarta.

Reunited with Chewy and Lowy.

Met Miss Cathy.

Numerous trips to Singapore (business+leisure).

Getting to know myself better and found new passions.

People change. Friendship is like a glass ornament, once it is broken it can rarely be put back together exactly the same way.

Old friendship rekindled and new friendship blossoms.

Spain won the World Cup.

Real Madrid's new coach: José Mourinho. Change for the better.

Dear uncle and a dear friend passed away ):

Learning entrepreneurship deeper and practicing.

Balancing food and work out.

Conflicts that are not expressed and constructively resolved will be expressed indirectly at great cost to the group, and the indirect expression of conflicts will persist far longer than would open confrontation and settlement of the conflict.

Learned valuable lessons on life. Here's one: We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.

Being grateful almost everyday.

How "The Cove" documentary changed my way of living. No more visits to aquariums & zoos.

Crazily in love with Rick Riordan's: Percy Jackson and The Olympians, The Kane Chronicles, Heroes of Olympus.

Apple iPad.

My Audrey Hepburn DVD Collections is almost complete (:

Proud of Indonesian National Soccer/Football Team for the first time ever.

Very merry and jolly Christmas time with my big fat Minahasan families from both sides.
Family photo on Christmas Eve. The gift of holiday is being together with loved ones (:

Lesser drama this year. Yay.
In short, one blessed year (: Thank you Jesus, my Lord and Savior.

Merry Christmas, Darlings (:

Almost Christmas

I am sort of preview-ing my Christmas' miracle already. It may not snow in Jakarta, and the people aren't exactly festive, but for the last 2 months, I am now at peace with myself. I am counting my blessings (: I am grateful for my loved ones, for taking the time to paint my canvas with many different colors for 365 days, grateful for allowing me to mature, and for giving me the chance to grow. Even if I could turn back time, I wouldn't have it any other way. They have made it so worthwhile.

I know some of you are traveling outside Jakarta pretty soon, some are staying, some are busy doing something... I just want to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and reminding you all to start counting your blessings. Sweet memories are created for us to be constantly reminded that there were actually good times. So let's forget the bad ones, cherish the good ones, make new ones, and look forward to better ones.

New Year's wishes: Be on a clean slate, no longer hating and be wiser. I also look forward to making better memories with my loved ones, all next year, and the year after, and the year after, and the year after... til' we're all wrinkly and disgusting - keep chasing the end of your whatever rainbows, never weary, and I promise we all get there in the end. If you don't believe me, believe God - He said so. :)

A Poem by Rabindranath Tagore

I love good poems, especially beautiful poem like "Unending Love" by Rabindranath Tagore. This is actually Audrey Hepburn's favorite poem, shortly after her death, Greggory Peck (co-star in Roman Holiday) went on camera and tearfully recited this poem, for Audrey.

Unending Love

I seem to have loved you in numberless forms, numberless times...
In life after life, in age after age, forever.
My spellbound heart has made and remade the necklace of songs,
That you take as a gift, wear round your neck in your many forms,
In life after life, in age after age, forever.

Whenever I hear old chronicles of love, it's age old pain,
It's ancient tale of being apart or together.
As I stare on and on into the past, in the end you emerge,
Clad in the light of a pole-star, piercing the darkness of time.
You become an image of what is remembered forever.

You and I have floated here on the stream that brings from the fount.
At the heart of time, love of one for another.
We have played along side millions of lovers,
Shared in the same shy sweetness of meeting,
the distressful tears of farewell,
Old love but in shapes that renew and renew forever.

Today it is heaped at your feet, it has found its end in you
The love of all man's days both past and forever:
Universal joy, universal sorrow, universal life.
The memories of all loves merging with this one love of ours -
And the songs of every poet past and forever.

It is definitely my most awaited movie at this very moment. In case you're wondering why, you do know how much I love Natalie Portman and Zooey Deschanel right? Yes, you're guessing the right thing! They're starring "You're Highness" together! Yaaaaayyyy... I'm so stoked! If it's a great comedy movie,  awesome! If it's not great, I couldn't care less! LoL! Can't hardly wait!! (:

She & Him - Fools Rush In

Yes, I'm back with another song from She & Him (read: the best duo ever!!!). I got this song for months now and it's time to share this song to you, readers! This is an old song, originally performed by Louis Armstrong, being a devoted fan of She & Him, of course-lah I love their version of this song better!

Fools Rush In

Fools rush in where angels fear to tread
And so I come to you, my love, my heart above my head.
Though I see the danger there
If there's a chance for me, then I don't care

Fools rush in where wise men never go
But wise men never fall in love, so how are they to know?

When we met, I felt my life begin
So open up your heart and let this fool rush in
Fools rush in where wise men never, never, never go
Eh, but wise men never fall in love, so how are they to know?

Ahh, when we met, girl, I felt my life begin
So open up your heart and let this fool rush in

Style Role Model

Everyone has role models in life. My famous role models are of course Audrey Hepburn, Natalie Portman and Zooey Deschanel, I really love their personalities, charms and sense of style (: And my infamous role model in fashion sense would be this fabulous new yorker (errr, I don't copy my friends' style - that is just inconvenient).

Why her? Simply because to me, we have many things in common, like we love old stuffs. Her fav decade is the 60s, classic vintage style, love Mad Men!!! She has great taste - for me ((:  I've copied, is copying and will always copy her style! I'm not really into today's fashion, I love old style better. Take a look of some of my favorites (some are wearable in tropical countries, some just aren't *sadface*)...

i wish i could wear boots in Indonesia ):
Going to copy this style as soon as I own a pair of beige Converse! Already have the jeans (definitely will be rolled up just like above pic), shirt and jacket (:

I've always loved embroidered dress (:

So simple but pretty!
Already copied this style - minus the straw hat! -- don't have one.
I'm currently ordering these vintage swimsuit - online!
Simply cutee
Already copied the style - minus the turban. But I want the shoes!!!
Just bought a jumpsuit similar to this (: hehehe
How can I not love this 'Roman Holiday' look! Oh the hair!! Lovely!
Another embroidered dress in yellow (:

Tres chic!

I don't own denim shirt... ):

Need to have a pair of beige Converse!

Love this!!

Heart, heart, heart!
Darn I love her boots, umbrella and striped shirt!!!

So navy-ish - I LOVE!!!

Going to copy this one too!

Superchic pattern... Totally in love. I'm so heading to textile store soon!

Casually pretty!
Another vintage-y swimsuit!!! Oh gawsh I want those high-waist bikinis
Ahhh! The boots and striped blouse...
Supersweet Vintage Dress...

Cute skirt!!

She's wearing Batik skirt! I wanna make one...

I'm so copying this one too!

Striped Chair

I've blogged about my addiction to stripe pattern here. And look what I found on the internet! I just have to have these striped chairs one day... one day...

Don't Look Back. Move On.

It's bad enough you're friends on facebook with the ex-lover you still care about, but checking their profiles constantly? Really bad. Why don't all people just move and and never look back? A friend of mine just told me that she feels miserable everytime she views her ex-boyfriend's facebook page. Yes, her ex-boyfriend is happily in a relationship with someone else while she's still single until this very moment. I told her, "Please, do yourself a favor, either remove your ex-boyfriend from your friends list or never to view his page ever again."
