Love Letter

Dear Hubby,

You may not be my first, but you are my last and my only. I loved before but I love you now, what else matters? I'm not perfect - you aren’t either, and the two of us may never be perfect together but if I can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto me and give me the most you can. I may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but I will give you a part of me that I know you can break - my heart. So don’t hurt me, don’t change me, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than I can give. Love me. Smile when I make you happy, let me know when I make you mad, and miss me when I'm not there.

Love,
Yours Truly.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Farewell Om Izer

Last thursday, my uncle Eliezer Yan Bernadus passed away. I'm not going into any details but I'm going to share to other people what a wonderful, family-oriented man he was. He cared for his family, his big family to be exact. Last years of his life, he dedicated himself to spread words of God to people he met eventhough his eyesight was very poor (he could only see 95%, it was a total blur for him to see the world. see the faces of his friends and family). And he was very kind to me and my husband.

The last time I saw him was on my birthday this year. Yes, over 3 weeks ago. I was having birthday lunch with my core family (parents & husband & in-laws), then he was having lunch with his bible study group at The Cafe, Hotel Mulia. I don't know what was on his mind, but he insisted to have quality short conversation time with each of us. He shook hands with us longer than usual and then said to me that it's good to know that I'm doing well and that I should keep holding on of being well.  When he was at our table, my husband was gone invading the buffet tables, he said to me "Where's Jonah? Take me to him, come on now". Then we walked together finding my husband and he did the exact same thing to my husband. Then after that, he looked to both of us and said, "Om Izer is happy seeing both of you all and well. I'm happy." Now that he's gone, I couldn't help but wonder, did he know that his time almost come? Did he try to say goodbye to us?

Days before he died, he already told one of my aunties that he wanted to be cremated and his ashes should be poured into the sea. He didn't want become a burden to any of his cousins and family. His parents already passed years ago and his brother passed away last February. He said that if we want to say hi to him once in a while, just go to Kema beach (it's a beach just few hundreds meters away from our village back in Minahasa) or any beach and touch the water. Om Izer, I will remember you everytime I go to the beach or ocean, and I will say hi to you. You'll be missed. Farewell and say hi to my daddy Jesus.

My father and my uncles at my parents' house 2 years ago, Om Izer was the one wearing the white framed sunglasses.

Lee Brice

Be a best friend, tell the truth, and over-use “I love you,” go to work, do your best, don’t outsmart your common sense, never let your prayin’ knees get lazy, and love like crazy.

Where The Wild Things Are

This movie probably and most likely is scandously underrated by many people who do not get the message. Some movies dont have to be all explosions and violence, SOME movies actualy have a message and this one tells it with such great emotion and depth, that you half to love it.

Unlike many childhood movies this film does a great job of portraying coming of age as a painful and tumultuous process. Giving up childhood fantasies and learning to accept responsibility for one's actions is a difficult process we all must undergo. Max learns about handling relationships and managing his anger.

Great film for adults, kids, and tweens. Highly recommended :)

New Activity

For the past month, my husband and I, along with my cousins have this healthy activity going on. We go jogging once a week. I'm so happy that we're doing this, it is safe to say that I'm a sports girl at heart. I have always loved doing sports ever since I was a little. I was in the volleyball team, athletic team, softball team and tennis team in school back then. However, for the past 10 years, I've been on-off doing it. Tried going to the gym, but really not my cup of tea. Didn't work at all. Yoga and Pilates are my bffs all this time.

Since my husband is now actively playing rugby, he has to maintain his stamina by jogging more frequently. I was like, why not? I've always loved athletic stuff. Jogging? Why not! Running is very good for your health. It provides a great cardiovascular workout, strengthens and tones your muscles. My husband and I actually feel the difference, we become more fit and somewhat stronger. Regular jogging gives better overall physical condition as well as some other health benefits, including mental benefits such as relaxation and reduction of anxiety. Real talk! Before going jogging, usually my husband and I feel tired and so on. But after jogging, we ALWAYS feel re-charged, re-juvenate and fresh! I highly recommend everyone to jog at least every week. You will feel the difference, your body will be in better shape also. It burns fat :D

It's never too late for anyone to live healthy life isn't it. Let's jog!

Old friends, Hot Chocolate and Engagement Ring

What a lovely day, my husband and I went out with my old friends. Got some terrific news :) One of my besties just got engaged! yay! I'm so happy for you darling, if you read this, you know who you are. Since this is still a secret, I'm not at liberty to mention her name here. But here's the pic of her very pretty engagement ring:

Am I excited? You have no idea!!! ;) We laughed and exchanged stories over these tasty cups of hot chocolates at Canteen, Plaza Indonesia. A real nice place to hang out with your friends / family, in my opinion.

One old friend I've known since I was 12 years old, one old friend I've known since she was in junior highschool and one old friend I've known since high school era. It feels good and comforting hanging out with people you've known for more than 10 years and still hanging out until today. What a blessing. And on my way home, the sunset was just ueber-stunning. One of those perfect days today, yes? :)

Happy Easter!

The meaning of Easter - What does it mean to you?
The meaning of Easter is Jesus Christ's victory over death. His resurrection symbolizes the eternal life that is granted to all who believe in Him. The meaning of Easter also symbolizes the complete verification of all that Jesus preached and taught during His three-year ministry. If He had not risen from the dead, if He had merely died and not been resurrected, He would have been considered just another teacher or Rabbi. However, His resurrection changed all that and gave final and irrefutable proof that He was really the Son of God and that He had conquered death once and for all.

Today, the meaning of Easter, for million of Christians, is that of honoring and recognizing Jesus Christ's resurrection from the dead, and His glorious promises of eternal life for all who believe in Him.
