Popeye and Olives

That was the theme the girls decided for Irene's Bachelorette Party. Irene = Popeye and The girls = The Olives. I'm not going to elaborate the details here, but here are some photos from that crazy night. We all had fun for sure, needless to say, it was a huge success!!!

Our present for her, naughty sexy lady cop costume.

Dinner first.

Begging a guy for a signature (don't ask, it's just the silly task we told her to do)

Now onto another task, took picture with some random guy.

we quizzed her some personal and private questions about larry.  she had to drink a single shot of vodka everytime she got the answer wrong LoL

Some fun we had (:

Not to forget, the boobies and penis cupcakes. LoL

General Motors Diet

My darling Irene's wedding is just around the corner so I figure I still have time to lose some weight. Yes I've been eating a little too much lately (how can I fight this huge appetite of mine? It's an endless battle.) and don't want to have flabby tummy when wearing bikini. Hello, who does?

So, I decided to do this detox diet. I'm quite familiar with this diet, it has worked for me in the past and very sure it'll also work for me this time. Yes I lost 5-7 Kgs in 7 days back then, so I'm going to do this once again.

It's called General Motor's Diet, it is designed to flush your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well being. But of course, there are some rules one must obey.

During the first seven days you must abstain from all alcohol
You must drink 10 glasses of water each day
Day One All fruits except bananas. Your first day will consist of all the fruits you want. It is strongly suggested that you consume lots of melons the first day. Especially watermelon and a loupe. If you limit your fruit consumption to melons, your chances of losing three lbs. on first day are very good.

Day Two All vegetables. You are encouraged to eat until you are stuffed with all the raw or cooked vegetables of your choice. There is no limit on the amount or type. For your complex carbohydrate, you will start day two with a large baked potato for breakfast. You may top the potato with one pat of butter.

Day Three A mixture of fruits and vegetables of your choice. Any amount, any quantity. No bananas yet. No potatoes today.

Day Four Bananas and milk. Today you will eat as many as eight bananas and drink three glasses of milk. This will be combined with the special soup which may be eaten in limited quantities.

Day Five Today is feast day. You will eat beef and tomatoes. Eat two 10 oz. portions of lean beef. Hamburger is OK. Combine this with six whole tomatoes. On day five you must increase your water intake by one quart. This is to cleanse your system of the uric acid you will be producing.

Day Six Beef and vegetables. Today you may eat an unlimited amount of beef and vegetables. Eat to your hearts content.

Day Seven Today your food intake will consist of brown rice, fruit juices and all the vegetables you care to consume.

So after day 7, I should lost 5 to 8 Kgs than today. This program can be repeated as often you like of course. It is suggested one is allowed to have 2 glasses of white wine / champagne in addition to the program, beer is also OK but any LIQUOR, cream drinks (no frappes please) is strictly forbidden.

Beverages one may consume while on the program:
1. Water
2. Club Soda
3. Black Coffee - no cream nor subtitute, no sugar nor sweetness
4. Black Tea - herb / leaf
5. Absolutely nothing else except the fruit juices which are part of day 7. No fruit juices before day 7.

You also probably wonder, why the heck is it possible to lose that much in 7 days?? It was pretty much hard to believe, but here are the explanations... make sense to me.

How and Why It Works?

Day 1 : You're preparing your system for the upcoming program. Your only source of nutrition is fresh or canned fruits. Fruits are nature's perfect food because they provide everything you could possibly want to sustain  life except total balance and variety.

Day 2 : Starts with a fix of complex carbo-hydrates coupled with an oil dose. This is taken in the morning for energy and balance. The rest of day two consists of vegetables which are virtually calorie free and provide essential nutrients and fibre.

Day 3 : Eliminates the potato because you get your carbohydrates from the fruits. Your system is now prepared to start burning excess Kgs. You'll still have cravings which should start to diminish by day four.

Day 4 : Bananas, Milk and Soup sound the strangest and least desirable. You're in for a surprise. You probably will not eat all the bananas allowed. But they are there for the potassium you've lost and the sodium you may have missed the past three days. You'll notice a definite loss of desire for sweets. You'll be surprised how easy this day will go.

Day 5 : Beef and tomatoes. The beef is for iron and proteins, the tomatoes are for digestion and fibre. Lots and lots of water purifies your system. You should notice colorless urine today. Your allowance calls for the equivalent of five big macs. Don't feel you have to eat all this beef. You must eat the six tomatoes.
Day 6 : Similar to day 5, iron and proteins from beef, vitamins and fibre from vegetables. By now your system is in a total weight loss inclination. There should be a noticeable difference in the way you look today, compared to day 1.

Day 7 : Finished off the program in a healthy way. You have your system under control and it should thank you for the flushing and cleaning you just gave it.

So, what do you think? Wanna give it a try? Let me know the result! I keep on wondering is this going to work for everyone. Good luck! I will definitely update this blog with my result in 7 days. Day 1 starts TOMORROW!!!

My darling bestfriend since junior highschool is getting married! Yes, the girl who got engaged months ago is Irene Susanto *trumpetssound*. Few weeks ago, prior to her wedding, the soon-to-be bride and groom got their pre-wedding photos taken my darling friend from college, Irene Iskandar AKA the talented photographer and got her make-up done by the beautiful Marlene Hariman. I just saw their pre-wedding photos on IRiS photoworks facebook page, they're BEAUTIFUL! If you're too lazy to open the links, see below:

She is based in Jakarta but she is able to travel near or far (; And the same also goes for Marlene Hariman.

Stripe Rehab?

I love stripes. I love them. Stripe rehab might be needed. Everytime I went shopping with my husband, and grabbed something striped. “Don’t you already have one of those? ” he asked. “Errr, the one I have is another color / different type of stripe” I replied. Yes, that's me answering. Go to my closet and you'll find stripes galore. I have more than 20 striped shirts. In my defense, not all stripes are the same. There are all different types of stripes and different colors too! Why am I writing this entry? Two days ago I went to a mall and saw that some cute striped blouses are on sale... and I'm trying so hard not to buy them while having this strong urge to just buy them. What do you think, should I buy them or should I not? Or... do you think I need to have stripe rehab? Help!

No Strings Attached

via amazon
There are two things that attract me into watching this movie. Reason number 1, Natalie Portman of course. Being one of her biggest fans, I'm much oblige for watching all her movies. Reason number 2, the movie title. I can very much relate to that. LoL. Last few years of my life being a single woman, I chose that path. Involved with the boys with no strings attached or today people call it "friends with benefits". Why did I choose that path? Because I was a Philophobia and just wanna have some harmless fun *triple-wink*. I was not exactly icey-queeney nor heartless, (some people told me that I'm such an ice-queen and cold-hearted girl - how could they say that!!!) I was just very careful with "labeling" my status. Of course I fell in and out of love with a few of them, well to me that's perfectly normal and I'm glad I went through those moments, they made me who I am today. No regrets.

I couldn't help but wonder, when I finally get to see this movie... will I have flashbacks? Will it be more or less the same? It's some sort of scary and exciting at the same time. I'm going to watch the movie next week and will update on the result. Bring it on!

Interesting Links

I'm going to share several interesting things I found on the internet. Enjoy!

If you're deeply in love with Greek myths as much as I do, go join this Mythical Manhattan tour when visiting New York.

Valentine's coming and this rad heart cake (red velvet cake, yum!) would be perfect for my February cake. --- Remember my NY resolutions?

Normally I don't expect any Valentine gifts from my husband, but I don't mind getting these Nerdy Stuffs this coming Valentine's Day.

Addicted to Angry Birds? Here's Angry Birds in real life!

I wanna go to the Philippines! Hope there will be a super cheap promo tix this year... *fingerscrossed*

2011 is definitely the year with lots of great and fun movies (based on their trailers of course - not a guarantee): Ceremony, Cars 2, Kung Fu Panda 2, Just Go With It, Red Riding Hood, The Other Woman, The Kids Are All Right, No Strings Attached, and of course just as I mentioned here, Your Highness

Sara Bareilles is coming to Jakarta this coming May 2011. OMG. Gotta see her singing "Gravity" live.

Everytime you feel like killing your spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend, go to this love blog. The love aura is contagious!

I'm so fascinated by the Ama Ladies AKA the women of the sea and dying to watch the documentary about them!

Aren't these owl items adorable? I want them all!

To-die-for Espadrille!!! I want a pair!!!

Have a great weekend darlings xoxo

The Kennedy's

I really want to watch "The Kennedy's". I'm so intrigued to see how Katie Holmes pulls off playing Jacqueline Kennedy. I've always been interested with the Kennedys and of course, Jackie. I love them. Already read one of their (JFK & Jackie's) biographies and couple of documentaries, but I want to see more. Especially this one. Are you as excited as I am?

Photobooth with Chewy

I just had a very nice photo session with my darling boy Chewy. He climbed the sofa and sat in front of my Macbook. I didn't want to waste the chance to take pictures with him so, voila! Isn't he the cutest?! (:

Seven Henrietta Street

this is the story of a charming girl
she laughs out loud, sings off key and believes in taking chances
she is quick and curious and playful and strong
she lets her imagination run away with her
she has never been one to stick to convention
she is fond of daydreams that take her places
she can order a cocktail in six different languages
she feels that understated is overrated
