Pressing Pause on Social Media

I’m all about connection and online friendships and discovering cool stuff, but there are times when I hit overload. And today is one of those times, so I'm pressing pause on social media such as no checking twitter for several days (you wouldn't believe the amount of drama on my timeline!), no catching up on Facebook updates. I allow myself to check my google account though, since I need to check my gmail on hourly basis and exploring the new Google+ (well mainly because no one's there yet - figuratively).

It's very refreshing thing to do, not to check my facebook and twitter for couple of days! I didn't check my twitter for 2 weeks earlier this month and boy it felt good. No drama, no negativity can do you good, since they are so contagious in a bad way and put you in the place where you don't belong. Hey, it's your life so you best know how to control it. Don't let other people, let alone social media control you! Be smart, think logic!
Facebook and Twitter, I'll see you guys later alligator!

Fabo Links

Been a while since my last fabo links post, so I think it's time to give new ones. Despite my crazy busy week, I've managed to cross path with these fabulous links... These links are so therapeutic yet giving me the unnecessary "ideas", ugh, the irony!

I'm longing for a beachy weekend because of this lovely photo of Praia Piquinia by Christian Chaize

I love her style and she look a lot like Zooey Deschanel in this photo!

I'm a sucker for sunglasses... and currently admiring these Grey Ant glasses.

I love Amanda de Cadenet's shots. She's simply brilliant!

I've been missing H&M, a lot. H&M home? Just kill me now. Ergh. Somebody, please bring H&M to Indonesia!

Rad studded wedges, yes?

Cant wait to see the movie about my first idol:  "The Iron Lady" played by Meryl Streep.

Not a fabulous link yet it's worth sharing Fake Apple Store in China, really guys! Really??!!

Gwyneth Paltrow's very own cookbook? Of course I want a copy.

Heart-warming photos of baby Lions with their Mothers. Awwww...

'til next time! Toodles! (;

Let's Go To The Beach!

I love going to the beach, thanks to my parents who introduced the beach to me at very young age. I spent my beautiful childhood in Manado, Indonesia which located at the Bay of Manado. Thus it was very convenient for my parents to take my brother and I to this beach called Tasik Ria every possible weekend, visit Bunaken every month and Bali every year. Oh how I love my parents, truly the coolest parents ever!

When we moved to the island of Java, our family went to Carita, Thousand Islands and of course, Bali for vacations. For my family, going on vacation means going to the beach! Bla bla bla... I guess you get my point by now, the beach and I are inseparable. I am very blessed to have been born in a country which comprises over 18,000 islands - in other words, so many dazzling beaches to enjoy!

To this extent, now I'm going to share my most favorite beaches in Indonesia, so if you ever come to Indonesia and love the beach as much as I do, you wouldn't want to miss these superb beaches...

Pulau Putri, Thousand Islands, Indonesia.

Siladen, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Lihaga, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Lalumpe Beach on a cloudy day, still beautiful! North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

At Geger Beach, my sanctuary in Bali.

Padang Padang Beach, is down in south of Bali on the Bukit Peninsula on the way to Uluwatu. Also known as Eat Pray Love beach since 2009.

Virgin Beach, Karangasem, East Bali. Crystal clear water, so pristine!

My husband and I at Hotel Nikko's beach, loveee! Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia.
If you want details and too lazy to google them, feel free to leave your questions here.

And of course, there are still many beaches in Indonesia that I want to go to (see below photos) and since I'm one selfish bastard, I won't reveal the names of these beaches below. I'll reveal the names later... after I came back from those beaches *evil laugh*. In the meantime, just enjoy these photos and dream about them beaches! Non Indonesian readers, don't you want to pack up your bags then jump on an airplane, destination: Indonesia this instant? (;

Natalie and Zooey's Commercials

You know how much I adore these two women, right? Check out these commercials, they look so stunning! Akh... It's so unfortunate that I couldn't find any Audrey Hepburn's commercials on youtube.

Versus

Every day we make decisions. Daily we are confronted with options. We must choose one or the other. We cannot have both. These options include:

Being bitter versus being better
Indifference versus decisiveness
Lukewarmness versus enthusiasm
"If we can" versus "how we can"
"Give up" versus "get up"
Security versus risk
Coping with evil versus overcoming evil
Blending in versus standing out
How much we do versus how much we get done
Coexisting with darkness versus opposing darkness
Destruction versus development
Resisting versus receiving
Complaining versus obtaining
Trying versus committing
Peace versus strife
Choice versus chance
Determination versus discouragement
Growing versus dying
Demanding more of ourselves versus excusing ourselves
Doing for others versus doing for self
Progress versus regression
Steering versus drifting
Priorities versus aimlessness
Accountability versus irresponsibility
Action versus activity
Solutions versus problems
More of God versus more of everything else
Being in "Who's Who" versus asking "Why me?"

How Michael Jackson Are You?

So 101 jakfm (one of the radio stations in Jakarta) is having this competition called "How Michael Jackson Are You?" as a tribute to Michael Jackson on 2nd Anniversary of his death. The winner will get a limited edition Michael Jackson iPad which one of only 150 made worldwide, some cash and MJ's newest album.

And no, I'm not joining the competition but my friend Sissy is! Sissy has been a fan of Michael Jackson since 1993 (she watched MJ live in concert and fell in love instantly). I know it's hard to believe for many people but yes she is that crazy about MJ. Since we were in junior high school: she had MJ pic on every book she had, her closet is filled with MJ posters, she'd cry if people insulting MJ, she can copy MJ's signature, she went to Neverland and cried in front of the gate (those were her tears of joy)... and as a tribute to MJ's 43rd birthday, she made a tattoo. MJ's initial on the back of her neck. All of our mutual friends and everyone who knows her, we all think she's completely lost her mind. But I think we just find it hard to believe that someone like her actually exist and happen to be our own friend! I actually admire her loyalty, which is why I think she deserves to win this competition. There is no fan of Michael Jackson (in Indonesia) as true as Sissy. I liked her video on 101 jakfm facebook page to help her win this competition. If you think she deserves to win as well, please login to your facebook and like her video (: Thank you, it will mean the world to her!

Update (July 14th 2011): She won the iPad! Congrats Sissy (:

Rainbow Brite

via Google/imagesearch

Aww, Rainbow Brite.  I still have a soft spot for that perky little blonde trying to bring color and happiness to the world, and I probably always will.
Rainbow Brite the movie: Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer --- via Google/imagesearch
I watched the movie, Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer on VHS tape in the 80s and it was one of my most favorite movies that time (still is actually lol). I actually lost count of how many times I watched the movie. I watched it again yesterday after all these years and guess what, I practically still remember some lines in this movie. How cute is that (; However, I regret I never had the toys. Boohoo.
My Rainbow Brite Tee by Junk Food Clothing.

However, few years ago, I managed to buy Rainbow Brite's t-shirt at Junk Food Clothing in Singapore. Bless you guys at Junk Food Clothing for making this tee... still my favorite until today!  (Will post the tee photo ASAP). Hence, the iPad's screen today...

PS: I hereby stating that I am not a fan of the recent remake / redesign of Rainbow Brite. It almost destroyed my childhood memories to pieces when I saw it.

Stockholm Streetstyle

I must admit, I enjoy clicking through Caroline's Mode: Stockholm Streetstyle. I visit this site religiously, because the men and women are impeccably stylish. Some of them aren't exactly my style but most of them are so entertaining and eye candy, baby! So if you in need of some fashion inspiration, this website definitely will help you out.

Here are some of my favorites (:

Wimbledon 2011

Quite disappointed that my favorite female player, Ana Ivanovic didn't make it to the finals of Wimbledon. However, I'm writing this entry to congratulate Novak Djokovic (Ana's fellow Serbian) for winning the title of Gentlemen's Singles Wimbledon 2011. I watched the match glued to the television, it was indeed a great match. Djokovic came out showing no fear, he held serve to win the Wimbledon Gentlemen’s Singles title, 6-4 6-1 1-6 6-3, and show anybody who had doubts who is now the best tennis player in the world. Congrats Nole, you deserve it!!
