My January On Instagram

I've decided to start a new feature (yes, another one) on the blog called (Month) On Instagram. It's simply that, Instagram pictures from my life on the respective month. I thought it would be fun and it's like journaling my life with a click of my iPhone.

PS: A little warning, you will see that my huskies, Chewbacca and Lowbacca dominate my instagram stream. They are my muses so yes they will make a lot of appearances here!

Left to Right.

1st Row:
Had Biapong Babi (Pork Steamed Bun) and Hot Milk Tea on a cold rainy afternoon at Rumah Kopi Gembira, Kawangkoan.

4th Row:
My husband in his uniform, he took a very early flight back to Lombok so he could still attend the afternoon class straight from the airport.
Chewy & Lowy sleeping (not a staged photo).

Wedding Anniversary!

January 31st 1981, Hotel Savoy Homann Ballroom Bandung.

Today marks my parents' 31st wedding anniversary, which is quite a milestone. They have discovered the perfect balance in life and in their relationship. And oh, my parents, they definitely know how to be silly together and laugh! You know what they say, anyone can be passionate, but it takes real lovers to be silly!

Happy Anniversary, lovebirds! God bless your marriage abundantly! XOXO

Thank You, Etta James!

via lyrics you love

She will be missed by the music industry I am sure, but missed more by my husband and I (and probably many other couples) each time we turn on "At Last", since it's the first song we danced to at our wedding. Thank you for the sweet song and thank you for singing it beautifully. You will not be forgotten.

Rest in peace Etta James.

This makes me laugh!

Nailed It!

I love nail polish! Nail polish makes my nails look so nice and purrty. *babyvoice* I bought a few bottles of Essie nail polish recently on eBay and I can't wait for them to arrive soon. I just can't help it, they're just too gorgeous! And as a matter of fact, I'm starting to build a collection of Essie nail polishes. OPI used to be my favorite nail polish brand but then I crossed path with Essie's Turquoise & Caicos which I absolutely loved! It has become my favorite polish ever and since I only have that one color, I need more. Lots more.

My purrty nails and the lovely Essie's Turquoise & Caicos nail polish.

Thanks to Joanna Goddard, my next bottle of Essie would be Fiji, one of the bottles I bought on eBay. According to her and many other people, it is the perfect pink nail polish ever produced. I have a feeling it's going to be my perfect pink nail polish too!

My birthday is coming soon and I would love to have these colors to my collection *SIGNALINGmyhusband*. LOL

  1. You might want to check out I Love Nail Polish blog by Wan. She's reviewing nail polishes (which makes me want this China Glaze for Audrey nail polish) and give nail art tutorials on her blog. I'm so doing this nautical themed nail art, but first I need to practice on drawing this anchor on my nail. Wish me luck!
  2. If you're into Nail Art, you might want to have Konad products.

Amara's Pixie Haircut!

AT LAST! Got a green light from my sweet darling husband to get a pixie haircut. I super love my new pixie haircut and now I feel like I can face anything that comes my way even more. Bring it on big Three-O!  (note: Dear Life, this is a rhetorical statement, not a challenge). Yes I'm getting old but I look a lot younger, my dad told me that I look like a high school kid. You're too sweet, dad! (;

I actually love Katie Armour's thin short pixie cut, but my husband told me not to push my luck. Fortunately, he loooves my new pixie haircut and told me there's a good chance he'll let me to get Katie's pixie cut one day. YES!
