Exactly a month ago, a very dear friend passed away - he went to bed at night and never woke up the next day. He was 33 years old and about to get settled down with his life; brand new job as a first officer at this new airlines company (yes, he was a pilot) and about to tie the knot with his girlfriend.
I went to his funeral with our college friends and it was a very emotional day for all of us. It was just so sudden... died so young and very unexpectedly.
Emil Ridwan was a great man and a great friend. He was a kind-hearted person and very silly/annoying at the same time, LOL. Emil was the type of guy who always help a friend in need, also a fun companion because he never failed to make me and my friends laughed out loud til we fell on the floor (literally) and he cared about his friends. I could definitely say that my life journey wouldn't be the same without him in it. We went to college together, took same major and always had the same classes. We sure had a lot of memories together in four years time; everyday life in college, freelance job at this Australian Bank, our silly/fun adventures in Europe and many many more. You will surely be missed and I will never forget you... thank you for everything, Milo!!! (':
My prayers are with his loved ones; his family and his girlfriend. May God give them strength to continue their lives without him and may God comfort them with the fact that he is with Him now and with his mother who passed away few months earlier. My heartfelt deepest condolences to his family, he was a true gift to everyone and filled lives with that extra special part of him while he was living.
Ah, life is never certain. We will never know if today would be our last. The passing of Emil taught me to give more value to every single day I have in my life... and to value my health and my loved ones more. It taught me not to put off the things I have wanted and needed to do for tomorrow if I can only do them today. It helped me redefine my priorities in life and to update and act on my "bucket list" the soonest.
