Monday ManiPedi: Monochrome

After a few months rest from nail polish, my nails are finally back in (basic) colors. For the comeback I chose to do something easy and pretty basic monochrome design. I love the end result eventhough in the process I realized that my skill in creating nail art is degrading. I need to practice more.

Monday ManiPedi: Nautical Chevron

This was from last year and still one of my favorites until today. Simply because of these exquisite hues of the sea and the chevron pattern and very easy to do it yourself. I think I'm going to repeat this manicure one of these days.

Monday ManiPedi: Pastel Polkadot French Manicure Style

Some fashion bloggers think that polkadots are going to be hip and trendy this fall, hence my polkadot nail art.

I did the dots randomly, just dotted them away. I did all the pastel dots on all 10 nails and was done in less than 15 minutes. Seal everything with top coat and voila, nice and shiny!

This time around I used pastel colors from OPI and essie, next time I'm going to put some more neon or dark dots on my nails because I really like this polkadot french manicure art. My nails look lovely and blend nicely with my clothes. ^^

Monday ManiPedi: Mint Green and Coral Nails

I love the combination of these colors, well me and everybody else. Because mint green and coral are the "it" colors for this summer. The colors are very pretty and combined together, they look happy and bright. So this time I created an abstract triangle nail art using these colors and I love the end result, which reminds me I have to buy a new top coat for a perfect finishing.

Coral: Essie Tart Deco ---> I really LOVE this color. I hope Essie won't discontinue this color, ever!
Mint Green: Essie Mint Apple Candy.

Monday ManiPedi: Ikat Manicure

One of my favorite patterns! So happy I could put it on my nails. I got the tutorial from an instagrammer, her username is: lafemmelulu few days ago and been dying to do my nails since.

As per her instructions:

1. I applied two coats of Essie Turquoise & Caicos as the base, except for my ring-finger which I applied with two coats of Essie Tart Deco. Allow to dry few minutes.
2. Then I used Faceshop's White nailpolish to paint irregular spots. Wait few minutes to dry.
3. Used Essie Tart Deco to add irregular smaller spots on top of the larger spots.
4. Then used a black permanent marker to apply thin feathery strokes vertically following the outer edge of the contrasting spots. The lines need not be perfect as the final look exaggerates a fabric or feathered look.
5. Allow 15 minutes to dry before applying top coat.

I absolutely looove my nails right now!

Monday ManiPedi: Melting Paint

A not very challenging nail art, it is a very simple one indeed. Applied two coats of Essie Fiji then painted freehand with Essie Tart Deco. Painting the melting effect is very easy, don't be afraid to move the brush around!

Monday ManiPedi: Stripes Ombre Manicure

Well hello! At first I was going to try this ombre nail art, but somehow I didn't quite satisfied with the result hence these stripes ombre nails. I love the result! Nude, mint and turquoise blended perfectly, they look great together. But of course you can also try this stripes ombre nails with other colors, say beige, coral and red. That being said, I hope OPI will never discontinue their "Samoan Sand" color, it's their best basic color in my opinion! I'm most certain that I will use it again for my next Monday ManiPedi feature. (; I'm going to try ..... hmm well, just see it next week! Have a great week ahead.

Nude: OPI Samoan Sand
Mint: Essie Mint Apple Candy
Turquoise: Essie Turquoise and Caicos

Monday ManiPedi: Pantone-ish Manicure

On this Monday ManiPedi's feature, I'm trying out a very simple nail art: Pantone-ish Manicure, I got the inspiration from here. I use OPI Samoan Sand for the base (I have big love for this color, it blends so well with all the other colors) and use Essie Tart Deco for the Pantone Color, simply pastel and neon which currently trending this year. I love the result, the colors are very pretty, aren't they! But this will only last for a week, because next Monday I'll be doing ombre nails! Stay tuned. (;

Abstract Nail Art

I decided to give this nail art a try. I'm glad I did it, it was a lot of fun! Splash here, splash there.. I feel like a kid again! The result is trĂ©s cute too, yes? But I really have to add some bright coral nail polishes to my collection. Oh Essie, why your colors have to be so cute! It's impossible to ignore you (; LOL
