Like A Star

This lovely song by Corinne Bailey Rae is one of my favorites. This song warms my heart every time I hear it. Truly, one of the most emotional, touching, and heart-felt songs I have ever heard.. So relaxing. I wish music like this filled the airways instead of songs with messages of poppin' bottles in the club, sex, money and drugs. This song is a healer. It calms me down.

And to my surprise... my favorite female contestant on American Idol 10, Haley Reinhart, did a cover of this song a while back in 2008. Kudos to Haley! She surely did a great job (: Love her voice sooo much.  Go Haley! However, I still hope Scotty McCreery will win the American Idol and Haley's the runner up!

I Told You So

Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina performed "I Told You So" on American Idol stage last night, they're amazing! FYI,  I'm a big fan of Scotty!! :D 

Cathy Nguyen

Have you ever heard of Cathy Nguyen? I've stumbled upon her videos on YouTube few months ago and I fell in love instantly. I've been enjoying her singing and songs for months (my husband Jonah is the one and only witness), they're really good and been on my Top 25 Most Play List on my iTunes :) Here are some of her videos on Youtube which I love so deep... Falling Slowly

It is a song written and performed by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová which also appeared in their 2007 film Once. Very lovely song. Kind of haunting, simple and it is one of my favorite songs ever. It is melancholically beautiful.

Sara Bareilles - Gravity

Yes, this is my second time posting this song. Click here to see the first post. The difference is, this one is the official video clip of the song and the earlier post is the song and lyrics. I thought the video clip is very beautiful, low-budget yet very arty. I can't help it, I'm just too much in love with this song and Sara Bareilles. I hope you enjoy the song and video as much as I do :) Have a good weekend!

La Vie En Rose

"La Vie en rose", Life through rose-coloured glasses (literally Life in pink), was the signature song of French singer Édith Piaf. An oldie, but a goodie. Edith Piaf's amazing voice makes you feel like you're strolling through the streets of Paris on a romantic evening.

I first knew this song when I watched this remake movie "Sabrina" - starred by Julia Ormond, Harrison Ford back in 1995. Then when I lived in Germany, some of my French friends (specifically: Robin Le Barbier et Adrien Guinemer-Langlois - Bonjour messieurs, ca va? Je vous manque tous les deu!) always sing this song. Always. Then my craze for Audrey Hepburn began... I have been immediately drawn into the beautiful melody followed by the slightest whisper of words until this very moment. I don't think I will ever be bored with this song :)

Baby It's Cold Outside

Do yourself a big favor and download Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey's version of "Baby It's Cold Outside" and Zooey Deschanel and Leon Redbone's version on the same song! Which one do you like better? I can't pick either one, I love Zooey and Leon's old tunes and melody yet I love Jessica and Nick's modern pop tunes. Note: I don't particularly like Jessica Simpson, she's a dumb blonde I say. But she's really good in this song. I WANT WHITE CHRISTMAS NOW NOW NOW...

She & Him, Volume 2 Album... arrived today.

Look what I got in the mail today! :) I am so terribly excited. Pre-orders truly pay off; this saves me from having to hunt for it in stores! Especially stores in Indonesia. So my thanks goes out to the wonderful folks at Merge Records, The CD came with the receipt, keychain and the poster and a Merge sticker. Thank you Merge! I'm still in awe. This shipment totally made my day!!!

My Favorite Duo, EVER!

Pre-ordered their second album few weeks ago, should be arriving some time next week. Oh gawsh, I'm so excited! I just heard its entirety, this morning, a week prior to its release. I love the songs already!

I've been listening to their songs since the last quarter of 2009... around September or so. Love them. Unique, different with somewhat strong character.

Zooey Deschanel (of course the pretty lady is a great singer) and Matt Ward, can't wait for the Volume 2 album!
