I am proud to say that I have already seen some their movies and planning to see the rest in the future. I love old movies. Three of them are gone now (Shirley Temple passed away last week), Mickey Rooney is the only one who still alive and well, he'll turn 94 years old this year. God bless you, Mr. Yunioshi! ((:

(Inter)National Kiss Day

Well according to Life magazine, today is the Kiss Day! Then they posted one of my favorite famous photographs... the "Kissing Nurse"by Alfred Eisenstaedt. Lovely photograph isn't it? One day when I happen to be in Times Square, there will be a reenactment of this pose. I promise you. Hubby darling, please remember and practice the sailor's pose ok? *wink*

These two people had never met before, you know. One of the most famous kisses, and it was a whim, spur of the moment.

APHOT: Star Wars Main Cast

I came across this awesome tumblr via Joanna Goddard (she always finds the most rad and cute stuffs on the internet) few months ago. Since then, I've been following this tumblr blog because I find the photos posted are rare, nice and have this "untold stories" vibes. And being pretty big fan of Star Wars, I was delighted when they posted this below photo.

And oh, I put "Part 1" on the title because there are possibilities in the future that I'm going to repost another photos from awesomepeoplehangingouttogether tumblr account. Thou shall wait and see.

Han Solo, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, C3PO

Yes, I Am!

Be it with using my iPhone, Digicam or DSLR, I'm one picture taking freak. Sadly I'm not one of those professional photographer. I just love capturing moments for sentimental reason.

Oktoberfest

What is Oktoberfest? Oktoberfest is a 16-day drink-a-thon in Munich, originally began in 1810 as a commemoration of the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. Now an important part of Bavarian culture, the festival features good beer, hearty German food, and carnival rides for some reason. Here are some photos I gathered from Life.com --- one of my favorite websites for admiring beautiful photos.

Now, still wondering why I miss  Germany so much?
I wanna go and wear dirndl and Jonah wears lederhosen! That would be fuuunnn... Anyone else is coming?

Clouds, Birds, Moon, Venus.

How great Thou art...

Explanation from the photographer, Isaac Gutiérrez Pascual,  who took this photo in the first week of September 2010 :
"Sometimes the sky above can become quite a show. In this photo, thee Moon and Venus converged, creating quite a sight by itself for sky enthusiasts around the globe. From some locations, though, the sky was even more picturesque. In the above image taken last week from Spain, a crescent Moon and the planet Venus, on the far right, were captured during sunset posing against a deep blue sky. In the foreground, dark storm clouds loom across the image bottom, while a white anvil cloud shape appears above. Black specks dot the frame, caused by a flock of birds taking flight. Very soon after this picture was taken, however, the birds passed by, the storm ended, and Venus and the Moon set. The Moon and Venus have now separated, although Venus will remain visible at sunset for the rest of this month. "

Kissing Nurse

NEW YORK, UNITED STATES - AUGUST 14, 1945: A jubilant American sailor clutching a white-uniformed nurse in a back-bending, passionate kiss as he vents his joy while thousands jam Times Square to celebrate the long awaited-victory over Japan.
It's perhaps the most iconic photograph from the victory celebrations of World War II, and the nurse who made it possible, Edith Shain, is dead at 91.

Reuters reports that Shain, the nurse in the famous Alfred Eisenstaedt photograph from the V-J celebrations in Times Square marking the end of U.S. hostilities with Japan, died in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Shain worked at Doctor's Hospital in New York during the war, and her kiss with the anonymous sailor -- his identity has never been discovered -- was captured by Eisenstaedt for LIFE.

"My mom was always willing take on new challenges and caring for the World War II veterans energized her to take another chance to make a difference," said son Justin Decker.

Oh actually, the American sailor name was George Mendonça. Found it on the internet somewhere. I love this photo, it says many things words can not say.

Photographs

I really love taking photos. Of people, of animals, of things. Of any different occasions and of mostly anything. Because people come and go. They scratch a little, they love a little, they make you cry a little. Then the marks disappear as the wounds finally heal. But memories do stay. And I want to have a place in my megabyte memories to cherish them.

Doesn't matter how small they might be.
