Be A Hero For Animals

It's official. I'm going to put a bowl of water in front of my house and will keep it full. And now I would like to encourage you to do the same. Let's save the animals!

via The Barking Army

ps. If you happen to live in Jakarta, love huskies and can adopt a pair of (already neutered) huskies... please adopt Bentley and Mercy. Please, please, please don't let them live in separate houses and please love them unconditionally! God knows how much I want to adopt them but sadly can't... )':

Corgi Cuteness

My most favorite breed of dogs is Siberian Husky, obviously. However, I've been dreaming of adding a (pair of) Pembroke Welsh Corgi to my family one day. Corgis are cuuuute, I doubtlessly love them!  I've been following this "The Daily Corgi" tumblr page for more than a year just to amuse myself (I'm sorry Chewy Lowy but this doesn't mean that I love you both less). What do you think of Corgi dogs? Aren't they totes adorbs!

Christian the Lion

I have seen a lot of things in my years of hunting down motivational material to share with you. Most all animal videos make me cry. This one is happy though, and very touching. But it still made me cry. Watch him wrap his little paw around his parent's leg. The profound spiritual connection animals have to humans and vice-versa is palpable. Ah, bless his big, lion heart.

Dolphins

It's that time of the year again, where the people in Taiji hunt down and slaughter dolphins (T___T) ... this is truly intolerable and cruel. I hope there will be a drastic change happening soon in Japan so the dolphins nearby will be safe. Please help save Japan dolphins... do the best you can do either you donate or go to Japan helping Ric O'Barry. Because dolphins are human's bestfriends next to dogs, they're adorable and because that's the right thing to do. Let's make this world a better place not only for people but also for animals!

Oogy

In 2002, Larry Levin and his twin sons, Dan and Noah, took their terminally ill cat to the Ardmore Animal Hospital outside Philadelphia to have the beloved pet put to sleep. What would begin as a terrible day suddenly got brighter as the ugliest dog they had ever seen–one who was missing an ear and had half his face covered in scar tissue–ran up to them and captured their hearts. The dog had been used as bait for fighting dogs when he was just a few months old. He had been thrown in a cage and left to die until the police rescued him and the staff at Ardmore Animal Hospital saved his life. The Levins, whose sons are themselves adopted, were unable to resist Oogy’s charms, and decided to take him home.

Oogy is a living proof that there can be happiness, love and hope on the other side of the horrible events in life. Also this is truly a story about what can happen when the worst in people meets the best in people and the best wins. Just like in disney movies!

I'm going to place an order of this book as soon as possible at my favorite bookstore in town since I'm a sucker for dog stories. And oh, my super sweet childhood friend, Lindsay, just posted an entry about Military Working Dogs. I gotta hand it to you girl, that was one great blog entry! I didn't know that there was a dog killed alongside with his handler and those Navy Seals on the Chinook chopper that crashed in Afghanistan last week. I'm so saddened by this horrific news *sobs*.

And oh since my readers are mostly from the US of A (according to my visitor flag counter), I urge you to read her blog entry and spread some love to dogs and other animals. Please adopt stray dogs at your nearest dog shelter if you want to get a dog, they need a home and they need you!

We Saved Lady Genit

ew days ago my mother, husband and myself went for groceries shopping then in the parking lot, we saw this poor cute puppy was kicked and meanly harassed by this security guy. It only took few seconds for us to decide that we're going to take the puppy home with us. The pitch black puppy is a girl, half labrador half local dog, around 1.5 months old. She's a very cheerful and playful puppy, I couldn't help but wonder why people could possibly have the heart throwing away a puppy like this?

However, as soon as we got home we had an unpleasant event. My huskies didn't take the adoption very nicely. My husky girl went hysterical and howling like crazy and have this killer look. Twitter came in handy, I tweeted about her and asked whether anyone wants to adopt her. Miracles happens (Thank you Lord Jesus). Long story short, puppy officially adopted :) Yay!

The next day, we brought her to her new home, this lovely family warmly welcomed her. I couldn't be more happier and relieved! And what a small world it is, my father is actually friends with the head of that family. Wow. God is good.

If one day I cross path with another stray puppies, I'd definitely wouldn't hesitate to take them and try finding them a family. Doing it over and over again? No problem! It feels so good helping animals in trouble, somehow it makes me feel like a very useful person :) And it makes me happy beyond belief. And oh, if you want to adopt stray dogs, or found stray/abandoned dogs, please contact below:

And oh, yesterday, the new owner, Tasha Asmarini that is, posted this on my facebook wall: "The pup is doing good.. playing all the time.. eat a lot.. we call her lady genit". Oh I'm so happy for you Lady Genit!

Lady Genit, the night we found her

Let me out of this box!

Chewbacca & Lowbacca

These are my babies. They're mine. They are the bestest huskies ever to me & my hubby :) We love them to death.

Ms. Cathie

Meet Ms. Catherine, probably the cutest maltese i've ever encountered with! (this isn't even a matter of favoritism) Truth be told, I'm a fan of large breed dogs. Alas, this little girl got me. She is only 4 months old and she is already learning tricks! She sits and shakes hands; the cutest thing imaginable. She is the sweetest puppy, always cuddling with everyone and giving tons of kisses and has the greatest personality ever! She is very playful and loves to jump around. Very friendly pup. She always sleeps in my arms at night every time me and my husband visit my in laws' house. Putting her head on my right arm, like, all the time. Cathie belongs to my sister in law's bestfriend, Anty. Anty lives there too momentarily, I guess I'll miss Ms. Cathie once Anty moves out of the house. Anty's getting married sometime soon and will move out eventually, and will bring Ms. Cathie with her. I'm so going to miss her, but in the meantime, I'm gonna enjoy my moments with her.

One Unhappy Killer Whale

Published Article:
ORLANDO - Veteran whale trainer Dawn Brancheau was killed Wednesday at Sea World while working with one of the whales. Witnesses in the front row of the stadium say they shot video of Brancheau with the whale moments before the attack.
The trainer who is feeding the whale fish is Dawn Brancheau, according to Suzanne and Tom Connell, who shot the video.
The Connells were visiting Sea World with their 10-year-old son, celebrating his birthday. They say they were sitting poolside in the front row of Shamu stadium, where they say Brancheau was interacting with the whale before the attack.
The video shows the trainers splashing water on the whale and feeding it fish.
"She was happy. She was smiling. I think she probably died doing what she loved doing," Suzanne Connell said.
"It seems surreal that this whole thing happened. A nice day down at Sea World and we couldn't believe what we were seeing, what we were witnessing. Just unbelievable," Todd Connell said.
Sea World president Dan Brown said Brancheau was one of the park's most experienced trainers, and said the attack was devastating news.
"It is an extraordinarily difficult time for the park and team members," Brown said. "We have never in the history of our parks experienced an incident like this."

So it happened (again). Tilikum the Killer Whale accidentally killed a professional trainer. I chose the word "accidentally" because I don't wanna believe any captured animals / pets would want to attack their trainers / owners. A wild animal was doing what a wild animal does. That isn't his fault but simply his nature. Tilikum is obviously unhappy, and needs a different situation. I am devastated by this news, but I am also one of those folks that believes these beautiful creatures are best left in their natural habitat.

For creatures in captivity life is not always easy. I wonder if people would ever be satisfied just by watching images of animals in their habitat taken by well placed cameras in remote places rather then remove animals from the wild and train them to do tricks and things that are not in their nature. As an alternative, the large collections of wild shots could be edited and made to illustrate story lines with tricks and so on, just like other films Disney creates with domestic animals. We all like stories. It could be fun, lucrative and guilt free for everyone involved.

Stop seeing the torment of the last large ocean mammals. Those who pay the price of admission are to blame for the torture of these animals. Nevertheless, my thoughts and prayers go out to Dawn Brancheau's family... She died doing what she loved doing, may her soul rest in peace.

So Kelly Bag's Printed Ad

via Google/imagesearch

My favorite commercial ever!!! Because of those Siberian Huskies and the cute husky pup tucked into the So Kelly Bag. My parents showed me this ad last week, they said: “If you have to choose, the pup or the bag. Which one will it be? Because we are sure you can’t pick either one.” Ha-ha, very fun mom, dad. But they know me so well. I can’t. I want both of them equally :D

When it comes to capturing the season, few ads do it as well as the latest Hermes commercial. It’s all snow, ice, and luxurious furs in this celebration of wintery weather! Well in my opinion, Hermes always has the best commercials.

Sweden’s Ice Hotel is the ideal backdrop for this frosty photo shoot. The white snow ensures that scarlet alligator So Kelly bag pops, and Raquel Zimmerman’s dewy skin glows against her dark furry hood.

Louhan, a cross breed between chiclid from S. America is considered a hybrid tropical fish, having very striking features in appearance and colour, the most attracting feature of all is it protruding forehead. Keeping this fish, among the Chinese community in Oriental Asia, is belief can bring good luck & fortune to it's owner.  Posted by Hello

I got an sms this morning... from Cokie, one of my friends.

"Junior had passed away... please pray for his soul. Thank you Amara"then I replied:"Cok, sorry to hear that, but who's Junior anyway?"--  I had no idea who he was! Seriously!he replied back:"He's Bambang's brother."--  well, I must admit that Cokie's really good at being weird! If he started to be that weird, it means that he's not serious at all. But I decided to go on with his game. So, I replied him back:"Who's Bambang?"This is the reply:"Amara! He's one of my louhan fishes! You have forgotten all about them, haven't you?"Ach soooooooo!!! Then finally I sent him this message:"Of course I still remember bout your louhans! But I never knew their names though. It's been a while since the last time I came to your house, huh? Well, Please accept my condolence. ((:"Hahahahaha... he's such a funny guy. I got the hidden message of the sms though. It's been a while since the last time I hung out with my friends. It's not that I forgot all about them... it's just, I need some time to be left alone. I'm having a boyfriend and I'm trying to make this happen. I couldn't do that if I hang out with my friends everyday. But well, probably on December I'll start to go out with them again. Coz you know, I've missed them too!
