Shoes As Decor

I love that idea and actually apply that to my house and room. And this is just the beginning, in one year time, shoes (and possibly accessories) will be all over the house as decor! I agree with most of my favorite style / interior blogger that pretty shoes should be put on display so I got my few pairs of my heels out of the boxes and shoe racks. They do make the house prettier and I must admit, I love being surrounded by these pretty things at home. (: Here some of them at my house:

And here are the pics from all over the internet. So what do you think? Pretty, yes? Do you display anything in your closet as decor too?

Fabulous Friday Finds

via tumblr

Ah hello there!

Check out some of these fab links this week.

By the time this post is published, I'd be watching Phantom of the Opera at Nusa Indah Theater Jakarta. Jakartans, let's watch some great musical! They're performing in town until March 4th. I bought my tix online, click here.

This "A dog from God" post made me hug my huskies straight away.

Went to see "This Means War" earlier this week, Tom Hardy is just too hot to be true in this movie.

My darling friend, Hannah, told me about the most beautiful and amazing tribute to Whitney Houston

Thinking of getting this "Movie Pass" since I do go to movie theater a lot!

Kate Spade, you never cease to amaze me.

Time for the best chocolate ice cream you'll ever have

Java Jazz Festival 2012 is right around the corner. OMG Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu and Mayer Hawthorne are to perform on stage among many other singers/musicians!

Time to buy a black nail polish?

Don't forget to check my pre-loved items here

McAwesome

via tumblr

I think I want to buy three pieces of this McAwesome tee. One for my husband, one for Leonardo DiCaprio and one for Tom Hardy. LOL

Glittery Ring Fingernail

My freshly painted nails on February 20th 2012.

At this point, I've been doing my nails every three days. This time I painted hot pink nail polish with only the nail on my ring finger topped with glittery gold polish. I've got my inspiration from The Glitter Guide. Even though I prefer to use my turquoise nail polish, I decided to postpone turquoise til end of this month, to honor this month of love (and my wedding anniversary) by wearing hot pink nail polish. My birthday is in March, so yes I'll be wearing turquoise nail polish for the whole month. LOL! I'm that corny when it comes to manicure and pedicure.

Most of my friends wear their wedding rings on their right hands and they find it odd that I wear mine on my left hand. I told them that my parents also wear theirs the same way, which is true but not the reason why I wear mine on my left hand. I didn't tell any of them the actual reason why I wear my wedding ring on my left hand.

Did you know the old belief about couples who wear their wedding rings on the left finger will have a long lasting marriage? It is believed that the vein in that finger went straight to the heart. I don't care it's true or false, but I think that is very sweet and romantic.  Especially when my wedding ring is very special to me, not as a fashion statement,  but as a symbol of our union and a promise that should be kept for a lifetime. And for me, glittery ring fingernail surely is a great addition to that old belief and makes my nails prettier.

Friends Lift You Higher

Sarah reads my mind!

If you have toxic relationships with your friends, you should really read this. Negativity is not and will never be good for you, so get rid of toxic relationships... or slowly walking away.

"What about the relationships that always seem to bring you down? The friendships in which you don’t feel comfortable sharing happy news for fear of the negative reaction coming your way? Whether it be blatant negativity or passive aggressive jabs, it seems that we all have people like this in our life. My question to you is, WHY are these people in our life?

As I’ve grown up, I’ve always kept that in the back of my mind, but in a way, it has allowed me to make apologies for this behavior. “Oh, he/she didn’t mean it, they are just having a rough time, ” or  “They are dealing with some deeply-rooted insecurities regarding the issue” are some things I tell myself when I’m the recipient of such jabs. But you know what? I shouldn’t be making excuses for it. Hurtful, mean-spirited comments from a “friend” are hurtful and mean-spirited. Period, end of story.

One of the most important gifts you could ever give is to “lift your friends higher.” When something wonderful is happening to a friend, I want to be their #1 supporter, and on the flip side, nothing makes me happier than to share good news with a friend who celebrates with me. I can’t get over how many smart, talented and beautiful women (and men!) I have the pleasure to call friends. It’s insane, really. So many people doing such amazing things with their lives, and I feel so grateful when I can be a personal witness." --- SARAH

Life's A Journey, Not A Race

via Pinterest

Life, which includes:

Pregnancy. Ugh tell me about it, I'm not in a hurry to have babies and don't really care if some of my friends are already pregnant with their second child. Doesn't bother me at all but why does it bother other people so much that I don't have a child just yet? People have different set of priorities and please respect that.

Relationships. Take things slow. Embrace the special people you've been blessed to know.

Education. Professors and people with Doctoral degrees / Master degrees go for higher education because that probably is their passion and their own personal goals. If your passion is elsewhere, does it make you look average or stupid? Definitely not. Search for your purpose and do as best you can.

Wedding and Marriage. It's about finding the right person to spend the rest of your life with and finding that person has no expiration date.

Live your life, it's filled with opportunities, hardships, heartaches and will test our courage. Once again, Life's a journey, not a race.
