JK Wedding Entrance Dance

I hereby stated that I regret not seeing this video before I got married. If I did, I'd do exactly the same and would have asked my bridesmaids and groomsmen to dance like the ones in the video. I shared the video to my brother, Abraham; and then he said, he definitely going to do this on his wedding day. ARRRRGGHHH!!! Oh amazing video, why didn't you show up in 2008? WHY?! Oh well, let's just do this on my 10th Wedding Anniversary. My dear friends, prepare to DANCE!!!

Audrey Hepburn Tulip Dedication Ceremony

A new hybrid tulip was created and named after actress Audrey Hepburn. An official dedication ceremony took place at her family's former mansion Huis Doorn in Doorn, Holland. Watch it if you want to see Audrey speaks Dutch. :)

Best Actress of Golden Globe 2011

Congratulations mommy-to-be and soon-to-be-bride! God knows (and everyone who has been reading this blog since the very beginning) how much I adore her!

Prepare for my favorite She & Him music video. Don't get me wrong, I love ALL She & Him music videos, but if I had to pick one, I say: Don't Look Back music video. It's so great!

Everything I love is in it.. Zooey's dresses, so 60s. Zooey looks so adorable and cute.  The decoration so 60s. The dancing 60s. Everything is so 60s!! Nice concept and very aesthetically pleasing. I like.

Turquoise Crush

Okay yes, I have many addictions - crazy about stripes, madly love old (vintage) style and now is the perfect time to reveal one other addiction... I love turquoise! I just love the color, it is soothing, calming, pleasing to the eye and très chic (:

Looking back, it is clear to me now that I have been under consciously attracted to this color. When buying jewelry, I always somehow ended up buying turquoise color / gemstone. My wedding theme was "The Great Gatsby" and should had been decorated with black and turquoise (I still keep the sample from my wedding organizer). Took me a while to realize that I love turquoise a lot ((: 

I'm going to decorate my house with some turquoise color, not too much but just for accent color. Bright turquoise is really great as an accent color. Adding some pillows and old aqua shutters to my future den, but don’t think I’ll incorporate a lot more of it in my decor. And more thing, turquoise is so 1959 and so Mad Men-ish (((;

I even found out Pantone's statement when launching turquoise as color of the year 2009. “Turquoise evokes thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a languorous, effective escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of wellbeing.” Such a beautiful description, isn't it? 

So frolic with me through the land of turquoise. And here’s to a home that restores my sense of wellbeing.

Change

Goodness. Going through my old blog, by the way, it feels a lot like going through your old high school yearbook photos, where you had funny hair, bad complexion, braces and the works! I'm cringing yet amused by the way I used to blog last time, I write so differently now! But then again, I may say the same thing in another 4 years time about my current blog, hmm...

I have changed quite a lot since the first time I sign up on this blogger.com but I'm happy where I am now and what I am now. I've passed a lot of good and bad moments to get here yet by passing through them, I've grown. I grew up. I know who I am, I know what I like and I know what I believe in, without a doubt. I have changed.

The word change can conjure up many different feelings. I am both apprehensive or excited to the word "change". The process is not always pretty and sometimes forced people to leave their comfort zones. Some people welcome change with open arms and some fight it with everything they’ve got?. Everyone responds differently, but people are more likely to be accepting of change if they are the creator and they are more likely to oppose it when it is forced upon them. 

Life is full of change and that leads to growth. Change is what keeps us from becoming stagnant, keeps our life moving in the right direction and allows us to achieve the greatness we desire and deserve. Like it or not, we need to be willing to embrace it and work on being agile to go with the flow and change with the tides when something doesn’t go according to plan. Be brave because the road for the greater good is never easy and smooth.

Life is fleeting sometimes the days drag but the weeks and months fly by. Start actively doing things that are pushing you towards truly enjoying your life and if the only requirement is to change sometime, DO IT! Change for the better is good for you. Anyways, we only live once right?!

New Year's Resolutions

Usually on NYE, people reflect on the changes they want (or need) to make and resolve to follow through on those changes for the coming year. Of course I also have NYR, at first I didn't want to post my NYR (didn't want to jinx them! - but hey they are all realistic ones) but what if I forgot all about them throughout the year? So let's write them down and do them one by one... so at the end of this year, I'll be proud of my own accomplishments. 

1. Find some beautiful place to get lost in.

2. Volunteer to help others (I want to become a full-time humanitarian and philanthropist one day).

3. Saving instead of shopping!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

4. Take a photo with a barn owl on my shoulder. 

5. Cook and bake more often, cook once a week and bake once a month - minimum. 

6. Complete my Audrey Hepburn DVD Collection.

7. Visit Bandung more often. 

8. Buy a pair of Rollerblade and mushing harness for Chewy & Lowy (: Let's mush! 

9. .......................

10. .....................


Last two are secret! And no, having kids is not one of them. The last two are really private, family members only.

So, these are my NYR, I'll do my best to accomplish them and letting God do the rest (:
